After my retirement, I decided to pursue my passion for creating art. All my experiences and interests such as my love for nature, poetry and history are strongly embedded in my art process. I believe that art, music or the words in a poem, which feel like the delicate taste of citrus on the tongue or like a sincere hug of a close friend, can bring happiness and harmony. Creating art - for me- is pure joy, which is the highest measure of life itself.

My semi-realistic and impressionistic creations very often contain historical and mythological symbology. In my paintings I address emotions, feelings, the symbolic atmosphere, mysteries of our world and a touch of the subconscious. I am influenced by the symbolism and mysticism of Rossetti and Klimt, as well as primitivism of Cézanne, Kandinsky and Chagall’s fauvism. I care about light, color, symbols, composition, and the viewer's emotions. I create hundreds of pieces of art in my head. When I am painting, my imagination fuses those ideas with my current thoughts, feelings and dreams.

I use palette knives to apply oil or acrylic paint in Alla Prima technique.

I mostly work in my studio using photographs as a base for my paintings, but I love to do plein air work in the fall.
