My philosophy of art is to let my art speak for itself. Well executed, refined, subtly beautiful objects. No ethereal ideas, just competent classical traditional design and creation.

I work mainly in cone ten porcelain. I use a porcelain formula developed by Doctor Jim Srubek. This porcelain formula is refined translucent and very white. I make my own glazes and tools for wheel thrown and other projects.

I was fortunate enough to have very accomplished mentors. I received tutoring from Sensei Manja Inoe, who is a national living treasure in Japan. I also worked with Doctor Jim Srubek who was the head of art education at UNM. Upon retirement Doctor Srubek became a member of my studio and we had many wounderful years together throwing pots.

My first clay experience was in stoneware at NMSU where I had a mentor by the name of Richard Erhard. Who was from the school of thought and discipline of Paul Solner. I learned a great deal and built a number of studios, kilns , and a foundry.

Today I live in the beautiful north valley, with my studio ten minutes away from my home. I have a group studio, with seven members all doing various projects. We have a strong art community which includes not only people who work in clay but also weaving, metal arts, Bob Ross painting, and stained glass. All and all we have a great group producing excellent work. Which speaks for itself.
