Elizabeth Fritzsche has been working with ceramics for 40 years and casting iron sculpture since 2000. She works out of her north valley studio.

My stoneware dinnerware is functional everyday ware with colorful elegant glazes at affordable prices. My wheel thrown mugs, bowls, and plates are thin, light to hold, stackable and functional high fire dinnerware. I make my own original color glazes from materials sourced locally.

My porcelain vessels push the physical boundaries of the porcelain material, pulling it thin and reshaping the forms. The vessels feature uncommon textual marks called ‘the language of good intentions’ which are fired into the vessels and become part of their energy.

My iron sculptures, cast from discarded metal, create a narrative about humanity and shared community. My current work is focused around unvoiced stories and the unseen.

I have had the privilege to live and work in Japan and China in international artist residencies. My sculpture and porcelain have been shown extensively in the Southwest and internationally, including The Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, The Albuquerque Museum, The New Mexico Capital Collection, The Amarillo Art Museum, Foothills Art Center in Golden, Colorado, The International Ceramic Museum of Jingdezhen, China, and in Takeo, Japan.
