My work consists primarily of wall art made from copper and represents themes found in our regional landscape. I use combinations of finishing techniques to achieve the final colors and patterns in the patina. Some of my work includes the use of fired enamels such as those found on the quail that I make from copper. In some cases I exaggerate features if I feel it helps draw-in the viewer's eye. My copper prickly pear cactus flowers have longer, drooping pedals which are more interesting, similar to an iris flower, instead of the actual flower found on the plant in nature.
One of my newer design concepts includes the use of fused glass with hammered copper wall sconces. This represents my functional art form. Doing so gives me a wider range of creativity to explore.
