My inspiration comes from the New Mexico landscape, my travels in the tropics, and seasonal changes in the garden. I majored in painting at Rhode Island School of Design and the emphasis on drawing has stayed with me throughout my career. Drawing is always the starting point.

Drawing creates the underlying structure of my landscapes and vibrant color brings them to life. My large oil paintings often feature reflected light on water or a view framed through trees. Some of my frequent subjects include North Valley acequias and the Sandias, as well as the Bosque del Apache and the Chiricahua Mountains.
