Because of the influence of my mother who was an abstract painter, I was exposed to a creative life as a very small child. I identified as an artist from a young age and expressed myself through a variety of the arts. As a teenager, I was sculpting in stone and took classes at the New School in New York and the Tenafly, NJ Art Center as well as local NJ colleges in three dimensional art, drawing and painting. I received a BFA from Goddard College, Plainfield, Vermont where I discovered fiber arts and continued my sculpting practice utilizing the granite mined in quarries of Vermont.
After moving to New Mexico and falling in love with the light and color surrounding us, I continued to hone my skills in a variety of the arts as well as work a full-time job and raise my family. Since retirement, I have rediscovered my love of painting and have been inspired by teachers and students alike at the NM Art League, Harwood Art Center and and extensive art communities.
Lately, I have been painting large format abstracts primarily in oils and mixed media and I am particularly drawn to abstracting nature and landscapes.
I live near our beautiful bosque in Corrales with my two goldendoodles. I have two sons, daughters-in-law and four extremely creative grandchildren.
